Prof. Serumage-Zake is a Professor within the academic area of Finance, Economics and Operations of the Unisa, Graduate School of Business Leadership (SBL). Prior to joining the SBL, he was an Associate Professor in the Department of Statistics at North West University, where he lectured Multivariate Statistics, Applied Regression Analysis, Design of Experiments and Sampling, Time Series and Forecasting Methods to Masters students. Previously, he was an Associate Professor of Statistics at the University of the Western Cape – lecturing Econometrics, Statistical survey methods and Research Methodology to postgraduate students from various faculties within the University.

He has published extensively in local and international journals and has worked for over 20 years as a statistics consultant as well as a co-researcher with biologists, agriculturists, veterinarians, economists and health scientists. As a consultant, he has helped researchers from the private sector, government and educational institutions mainly with the design of their experiments and analyses of variance, survey and sample designs, data collection and statistical data analysis.

Professor Serumage-Zake is currently engaged in research projects on: unemployment and poverty alleviation in South Africa, survey statistics including sample size and estimations, and treatment of missing survey data. He has written books on statistics (eg, hypothesis testing book for university/college students), research methodology and poverty in South Africa.

Professor Arnab obtained his PhD (Statistics) at the Indian Statistical Institute, Calcutta in 1981. He has a teaching and research Experience of 30 years now. He specializes in Survey sampling, Design of Experiment and Operations Research. He has published more than 50 research papers and has presented papers to seminars and conferences both locally in South Africa and internationally. He has served as external examiner for good number universities including Universities of Transkei and Calcutta. He has also acted as a consultant and as an administrator for many years.

He is presently a Research Fellow at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (SA) and a Full Professor in the Department of Statistics, University of BotswanaProfessor Arnab acted as a consultant (1989) to the United National Centre for Human Settlement (HABITAT) Nairobi, under special service agreement to study on the in-depth review of a city data framework.

Dr. Muwanga holds a B.Sc. (Hons) (Makerere); B.Ed., M.Sc., M.Ed. (Rhodes); PhD (ICT in Education, Natal); P.G.C.E. (NUL); P.G.D.E (ICT in Ed.) (Rhodes). Currently, he is a Senior Lecturer and supervisor of postgraduate students in the Department of Systems Management & Strategy, at the Business School, University of Greenwich, London. UK. He is also responsible for training staff at the University of Greenwich, a course leader for Competition and Business Risk, and is in charge of Career Development for Personal and Professional Development and responsible for the Consultancy Project on Personal and Professional Development. His research interests include the use of ICT to support learning; Pedagogy in the use of ICT; Professional Development; Instructional Design (analysing, designing, developing, implementing and evaluating technology enhanced programs); Science education; Assessment in education; Indigenous discourse in research; Quality Assurance in Higher Education. Previous research included Transmission of the maize streak virus; Efficacy of cereal insecticides; Hybridisation of coffee species; and Mutation of coffee cultivars (use of mutagens); Coffee processing. Dr. Muwanga-Zake has published extensively in internationally recognized journals and has written books (e.g., a book entitled 'Using Computers in Your School: a Perspective for Educators in Africa and Developing Communities'). He has presented at national and international Conferences.

Mrs Majonga has many years of experience in Marketing and Sales Management gained over the years of working with companies such as Colgate-Palmolive (1981 to 1992) as senior product manager, Art Corporation; brand manager of Olivine Industries (1992-1993); senior product manager of Merodent Zimbabwe (p v t) ltd (1993-2004), Director (Marketing and communication) of Merodant Zimbabwe, marketing and Communication (2004-2008); and Management consultant for Princetex International Consultancy (respectively 2004-2008, and 2008-present). She specialises in designing and executing tailor made training programmes for clients, customer service satisfaction audits, and Strategic management workshops/training.

She executed the Merodant Zimbabwe Company’s professional programme with The Dental Association of Zimbabwe (ZIDA), and worked with advertising agencies to produce advertising and promotional campaigns. Mrs Majonga is ex. Member of capital toast masters club – past vice president PR, and past president of the Zimbabwean Christian Professional Women Life Ministry.
